Vega Lodge resides on 30 acres of land overlooking Vega State Park and Vega Reservoir. The reservoir is the largest body of water in the Grand Valley area. The reservoir is approximately two miles long and provides ample room for boating, water skiing and fishing. Rainbow, Cutthroats, Brooks, Browns and Cutbows trout are all catch-able from shore as well as from a boat. The sparsely populated surrounding area provides for a wonderful wildlife habitat. It is not uncommon to find deer and elk wandering the property. Vega State Park borders the Grand Mesa National Forest. Reaching heights of 11,000 feet and cradling over 300 mountain lakes, the Grand Mesa National Forest is an oasis of hunting, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling and snowmobile riding. Over 100 miles of ATV/OHV and snowmobile trails are accessible from Vega State Park.
